Chromegabond PSC C8/C18

Chromegabond PSC (pharmaceutical separation column) is prepared by using a mixture of C8 and C18 groups. In addition to this unique bonding arrangement, PSC columns incorporate technology that we have developed which enables us to tightly control the level of residual silanol groups. We utilize this technology to produce PSC columns with a tightly controlled number of residual silanol groups. These columns are able to retain both highly polar and hydrophobic compounds.

Chromegabond WR C18

Chromegabond WR (Wide Range) is specially deactivated to produce superior peak shapes for amines and acids. Chromegabond WR C18 superior performance is the result of a multistep process beginning with ultra-pure synthetically produced spherical silica. The ultra-pure silica particles are then fully hydroxylated before they undergo an extensive bonding monomeric C18 alkyl chains, using proprietary bonding procedures. The bonded particles are then exhaustively endcapped to react any remaining silanol groups yielding columns that are much more resistant to degradation by acidic and basic mobile phase compositions, while improving peak shapes for amines and acids.

Epic Diphenyl

Epic Diphenyl bonded phase, with reduced hydrophobicity produces HPLC columns with novel selectivity, exhibiting increased speed and resolution, utilizes strong dipole‐dipole hydrogen bonding and π‐π mechanisms for different selectivity for compounds containing double bonds or aromatic functional groups. In addition, the diphenyl arrangement of the phase can also contribute to steric selectivity allowing for an additional chromatographic interaction. Epic Diphenyl is also highly selective for proteins with aromatic side chains and may be used as a USP L11 column.

A baseline stabilized alkyl perfluorinated C8 – Epic FO-LB, with low bleed characteristics is well suited to the separation of trace impurities especially for halogenated analytes, lipophilic compounds and environmental samples.

Epic HILIC FL

Epic HILIC-FL is useful for retention and separation of polar and non-compounds. Reversed-phase HPLC is widely used for separation of many pharmaceutical compounds. However, retention and separation of many polar analytes has proven to be a challenge. Many of these types of compounds are unretained or poorly retained on most conventional reversed-phase stationary phases, such as ODS. Fortunately, to deal with these types of analytes an alternative mode of chromatography can be utilized using polar stationary phases and highly organic mobile phases. This mode of chromatography has been utilized for many years and is referred to as “hydrophilic interaction chromatography” or HILIC. HILIC chromatography uses mobile phases containing between 5 – 20 % water for the retention of polar compounds.

Epic Naphthyl is a naphthalene based material, with high bonding density and intrinsic base deactivation due to a rigid structure that also enables the shape selectivity needed for many diastereomeric separations. It exhibits strong π-π interaction and charge transfer interactions and performs well for diastereomers separations and non-polar compounds. The unique properties of Epic Naphthyl places its selectivity between graphitized carbon and alkyl type stationary phases.

Epic PFP LB

The Epic PFP-LB is a pentafluorophenyl that has been baseline stabilized and is ready for high performance separations for a number of applications including the separation of natural products, halogenated compounds, aromatics, conjugated compounds and trace impurities in complex matrices. Many of these high performance separations were not possible with existing PFP columns especially in the area of trace impurities where baseline bleed levels were unacceptable.

Epic Polar

Epic Polar is a high density C18 packing specifically engineered for the retention of polar analytes. Epic Polar is a reversed phase column that enables highly soluble solutes to fully interact with the bonded hydrocarbon phase, even in pure aqueous mobile phases. Under these highly aqueous conditions, our novel proprietary bonding chemistry allows the bonded chains to remain fully extended in the mobile phase. Epic Polar is a true base deactivated reverse phase column and does not contain any undesirable ion exchange or mixed mode characteristics. Epic Polar can retain highly water-soluble compounds such as small organic acids, water-soluble vitamins, purines and pyrimidines, cathecholamines and other polar compounds.

Epic SCX

Epic SCX is a strong cation exchanger on a silica base. It’s suitable for the analysis of organic bases or as a trap column for two dimensional HPLC. Epic SCX utilizes the high density bonding technology which provides for superior cation loading and robustness. Epic SCX is based on bonded aromatic sulfonic acid groups and is available in 10, 5, 3 and 1.8 um particle sizes. Epic SCX will provide for the best performance of any silica based cation exchanger. Epic SCX has an exchange capacity of 3meq/gram making it the strongest silica based cation exchanger available. A separation of four nucleosides is shown below using only ammonium formate as a mobile phase.

FluoroSep-RP Phenyl
